Baileys & Coffee Cake

I found myself humming and hawing over what cake to create for our weekly Sunday Family Cake tradition when I went to go drop off a few things at my dad’s house. We were chatting in his kitchen when I spied a bottle of cinnamon vanilla Baileys on the counter by the coffee pot and WHAM! Just like that! Cake inspiration hit.

Eggnog Snickerdoodle Cake

Eggnog Snickerdoodle Cake. I giggle when I read the title of this cake. It’s like the lovechild of everything that is delicious and yummy about Christmas. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m an eggnog gal. And I’ve also made it quite clear that I swoon...

Cinnamon Bun Cake

Is there anything more comforting than a freshly baked cinnamon bun? Or do you call it a cinnamon roll? Bun, roll, whatever you wanna call it…it’s pure deliciousness. That burst of warm cinnamon-scented air as you open the oven door and pull out the tray. The bubbling crackling noise of the sugar, cinnamon, and butter filling boiling inside each little roll of puffed doughy goodness. Heaven. Pure and total comfort food heaven.

Spiced Pear Donuts

Donuts. Nothing quite compares to them. And they’re a lot like pizza in that even when they’re bad, they’re still pretty good. Growing up I was all for the chocolate-dipped, sprinkled, cream, or jelly-filled ones. You know the type, flashy and frilly. I had the realization not too long ago that I’ve officially become an old person when I passed those extravagant glitzy donuts and went straight for the old fashioned sour cream glazed. And the truth is, I’ll gladly wave my granny flag 😉 if that means I get first dibs, especially for these baked Spiced Pear Donuts!

Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake

49. 49 years old. That was how old my mother was when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. 13. 13 years long. That was how long she battled it for. I wish I could say that my mother and I had a great relationship. The truth is that I spent much of my...
